A delightful start to paragliding and paramotoring at Bhudargad Fort in Kolhapur!
Kolhapur: The historic Bhudargad Fort is now getting ready for paragliding and paramotoring. This decision has been taken to boost tourism. Experienced pilots and equipment from Himachal Pradesh have been brought in for testing. After a month of trials and training, these adventure sports will be open to all, depending on the weather. Forest Department officer Avinash Taynak said, "Paragliding will be started soon to increase tourism. After a month of trials and training, it will be open to all and will be operated depending on the weather." Local youth will be sent to Himachal Pradesh to become pilots. This will produce locally trained pilots and make this initiative self-sufficient. Bhudargad Fort is at an altitude of 3,208 feet and dates back to the 11th century.
This initiative is expected to increase the number of tourists at Bhudargad Fort. Adventure sports will provide new opportunities to the youth. The Forest Department is trying to empower the local people by training them. This will create new employment opportunities.
Paragliding is an exciting sport of flying in the air. In this, one can fly in the sky with the help of a large umbrella-like device. In paramotoring, along with paragliding, a small engine-powered propeller is also used, which makes flying easier.
