Accused who threatened Gorakhpur MP Ravi Kishan over phone arrested
A man from Punjab has been arrested for threatening to kill Gorakhpur MP Ravi Kishan over phone. The accused, identified as Ajay Kumar Yadav, is a resident of Fatehgarh area of Ludhiana. He was arrested on Sunday and sent to jail on Tuesday. According to police, Yadav had threatened to shoot BJP MP Ravi Kishan if he went to Bihar. Following this threat, the MP's office filed a complaint.
Additional SP City Abhinav Tyagi said, "The accused was arrested on Sunday and sent to jail today. He has no connection with Bihar. He did this act alone and said that he was drunk." The police used technical surveillance and phone tracking to trace Yadav in Punjab. The mobile phone used to make the threat has also been seized.
During interrogation, Ajay Kumar Yadav confessed that he made the call while drunk. He has no connection with Bihar and that he did this act on his own. The incident has created a stir in political circles. The police have launched further investigations.
