WhatsApp Users Data : The Government of India is going to order the social media platform WhatsApp to share the personal data of users with itself. According to media reports, this step can be taken due to the increasing misuse of AI. In which misleading and false things against the government are being shared rapidly on the internet using AI. Apart from this, common people are also being targeted.
According to the report, the Indian Government is planning to ask for people's personal data from the company under Section 4 (2) of the IT Rules 2021. Which raises big questions on users' privacy. At present, WhatsApp messages are end-to-end encrypted and even the company is not able to see these messages. The government will ask WhatsApp for data of people who are circulating fake content. And will take action against the primary origin of such content.
