Implementation of new vehicle parking system at Vadodara airport
New vehicle parking arrangements have been implemented at Vadodara airport. Three-wheelers have been strictly prohibited from entering the airport premises from Sunday. As per the new policy of the Airports Authority of India (AAI), the parking contract has been awarded to M/S S S Multiservices. The change will improve traffic management, passenger comfort and airport operations, said Vadodara Airport Director M S I Dawood.
As per the new parking policy, two-wheelers will be charged Rs 10 for the first 30 minutes, private cars/SUVs (up to seven seats) Rs 30, commercial cars Rs 43, tempos/SUVs/minibuses (more than seven seats) Rs 60 and coaches/buses/trucks (for commuting) Rs 170.
For the next 30 to 120 minutes, the rates will be Rs 15 for two-wheelers, Rs 40 for private cars/SUVs, Rs 98 for commercial cars, Rs 80 for tempos/SUVs/minibuses and Rs 250 for coaches/buses/trucks. After two hours, the rates will increase by Rs 10 per hour for four-wheelers and Rs 5 per hour for two-wheelers. For parking beyond seven hours and up to 24 hours, 300% of the 30-minute rate will be charged.
Private vehicles will not be charged parking fees for their entry and exit if they exit the airport premises within eight minutes.
These new rules are expected to help reduce congestion at the airport and provide better facilities to passengers. With three-wheelers not being allowed, other vehicles will get more space to enter and exit. The parking rates have been fixed so that everyone has a clear idea. These changes will make the airport more efficient.
