What exactly happened?
The elections to 27 municipal councils and municipal panchayats in Nagpur district will be held on December 2. For this, the Congress has formed a district selection committee. It includes current and former office bearers and seniors. The party expects that the interviews should be conducted in their presence.

The Rural Congress had organized interviews of aspirants in its office on Friday last week. While doing so, they did not call the party's election observers. They also called workers of a specific group of the party and interviewed them. Another group of the party had complained about this meeting directly to the state president Sapkal.

After this, former MLA in-charge of Nagpur Rural, Virendra Jagtap, along with district in-charge Uday Maghe and senior leader Ashokrao Bobde, had reached Nagpur. After this meeting, factionalism in the Congress has once again become apparent on the eve of the elections.
