At present the fitment factor is 2.57%.
If someone's grade pay is Rs 4200. So his basic salary will be Rs 15,500. In this case, the total salary of the employee will be Rs 15,500×2.57 i.e. Rs 39,835. There is demand for employees. That the fitment factor should be increased to 3.68. If this happens. So the basic salary will increase from Rs 18,000 to Rs 26,000.
48 lakh people will get benefits
48 lakh native employees will benefit if the government increases the fitment factor in the interim budget. Allowance will increase due to increase in basic salary. This is the reason. That the government may announce it in the interim budget before the 2024 elections. So that they can get the votes of government employees and also the votes associated with them.
