UPI New Features For Transaction : UPI payment has added a new feature. Through which soon you will be able to make payments through UPI using voice-based input instead of text-based commands. Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Shaktikanta Das recently launched several new features like Conversational Payments on UPI during the Global Fintech Fest 2023. According to NPCI, users can give voice commands to transfer funds and input UPI PIN to make transactions faster.

The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) said in a circular issued on September 6 that the Voice Payment Service on UPI will allow users to make voice enabled UPI payments through UPI apps, telecom calls and Internet of Things (IOT) devices.

No need for manual input commands

Users will no longer need to manually input commands i.e. text to transact through UPI. They can easily interact with the AI operated solution to complete the payment. It will be available through two modes, one on-call (through voice call) and the other in-app (through any UPI app).

• The on-call facility will allow users to dial a number where the user will be welcomed and guided through IVR to complete the payment process.
• The in-app feature will allow users to use their voice input on any UPI app to make payments. In addition, the device will recognize the verbal request and complete the process by responding to the request.

According to NPCI, users can give voice commands to transfer funds and input UPI PIN to make transactions faster.
