'Work from Home' to be Implemented in 2.5k Haryana Companies Starting This Date! Find Out the Reason.
Work From Home: Significant news is emerging for employees working in companies located in Gurugram, Haryana. Prime Minister Modi has appealed to the citizens to reduce their consumption of petrol and diesel, suggesting that private companies should implement a 'Work From Home' policy for their employees. According to reports, following PM Modi's appeal, over 2,500 private companies in Gurugram have begun preparations to enable their employees to work remotely.
Work From Home
According to the information received, IT professionals note that implementing a Work From Home arrangement requires setting up extensive infrastructure. This is necessary to ensure robust cybersecurity and to eliminate any risk of data theft during online operations. Approximately 2,500 IT companies in Gurugram have already commenced work on this initiative.
According to reports, IT professionals explain that for Work From Home or remote working arrangements, IT companies must provide laptops, video conferencing tools, and cloud-based project management software. Furthermore, to ensure data security, Virtual Private Network (VPN) access must be provided. Developing these capabilities is expected to take between 10 to 12 days.
According to the information available, once these facilities are established, a management team conducts an on-site inspection to ensure there is absolutely no scope for data theft. Once the necessary infrastructure is in place, subsequent issues are generally minimal. However, the Work From Home mode can pose difficulties for employees who have limited space in their homes; this can lead to disruptions within their families, prompting employees to eventually request a return to the office environment.
According to reports, once all these setups are complete, IT companies may begin implementing the Work From Home policy for their employees starting June 1st. Notably, Gurugram is home to over 6,000 IT and telecom companies, of which approximately 2,500 are expected to adopt the Work From Home model for their staff. According to the information received, there are many companies—such as those involved in cybersecurity—for whom implementing a Work From Home policy is not feasible. Consequently, the Work From Home model will be adopted only by those companies where employees can effectively perform their duties remotely from home.
Traffic Reduction
According to available information, one of the primary objectives behind implementing the 'Work From Home' policy is to reduce vehicular usage on the roads, thereby preventing traffic congestion and lowering the consumption of petrol and diesel. Furthermore, working from home is expected to lead to increased productivity.
Reports indicate that, ever since the COVID-19 pandemic era, some companies have continued to allow approximately 20 percent of their workforce to work from home; however, following Prime Minister Modi's appeal, the scope of this initiative is set to be expanded.
