Assembly Elections 2023 : The country's Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar has announced the election dates in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Telangana, Chhattisgarh and Mizoram in a press conference on Monday. Along with this, Aam Aadmi Party convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal also said that it will contest elections in Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh.
While talking to the media, Kejriwal said that we will fight with full strength in Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh. Further said that complete information about this will be shared soon. The Election Commission said that voting will be held in Mirojam on November 7. Elections will be held in two phases in Chhattisgarh. Voting will be held in the first phase on November 7 and in the second phase on November 17. Voting will be held in Rajasthan on 23 November. Voting will be held in Madhya Pradesh on November 7. Voting will be held in Telangana on 30 November. Counting of votes in the five states will take place on December 3. With this, the code of conduct came into force in all five states.
Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar said that about 60 lakh voters (18-19 years) will participate in the elections for the first time in 5 states. More than 2900 polling stations will be managed by youth to motivate young voters.
How many seats are there in five states?
According to the Election Commission, elections will be held on 230 seats in Madhya Pradesh, 200 in Rajasthan, 90 in Chhattisgarh, 119 in Telangana and 40 in Mizoram. Voting will be held on a total of 679 seats in the five states. At present there are 8.52 lakh voters in Mizoram, 2.03 crore in Chhattisgarh, 5.6 crore in Madhya Pradesh, 5.2 crore in Rajasthan and 3.17 crore in Telangana. If all these are combined then there are a total of 8.2 crore male and 7.8 crore female voters.
