A car that gives bike-like mileage for just Rs. 4.5 lakh! They're saying it'll get 33 kmph!
Maruti Suzuki Cars are in huge demand in India. The main reasons for this are low price and maintenance costs, high mileage, etc. But one Maruti Suzuki car that is sold at a low price and offers high mileage is struggling in the Indian market. We are talking about the Maruti Suzuki S-Presso here. It is considered one of the flop cars of Maruti Suzuki.
Due to lack of demand among the customers, the sales of the Maruti Suzuki S-Presso car have been 'dull' every month. The current March 2025 is no exception. Yes, the Maruti Suzuki S-Presso car has faced a severe decline in sales.
Maruti Suzuki sold only 1,788 S-Presso cars in the Indian market in March 2025. But this number was 2,497 in March 2024. This is a 28 percent drop in the sales of the Maruti Suzuki S-Presso car.
This has been revealed through the recently released Sales Report of the Maruti Suzuki S-Presso car. Despite the low price and high mileage, the Maruti Suzuki S-Presso car is not considered safe by customers. This is seen as the most important reason for the failure of this car.
The price of the STD (O) variant, the entry-level variant of the Maruti Suzuki S-Presso car in the Indian market, is currently just Rs 4.27 lakh. At the same time, the top variant of this car, the VXI (O) CNG variant, is priced at just Rs 6.12 lakh.
These are the Ex-Showroom Prices. At the same time, the petrol variants of this car offer a mileage of 24.12 km per liter to 25.30 km per liter. On the other hand, the CNG variants offer a mileage of 32.73 km per liter. These are the mileage mentioned on the Maruti Suzuki website.
But due to its failure in the Global NCAP crash tests, the Maruti Suzuki S-Presso started to be considered unsafe by Indian customers. This has become one of the most important reasons for the downfall of this car.
Due to the sluggish sales, it is expected that the sales of the Maruti Suzuki S-Presso may be discontinued in the future. However, it is noteworthy that no official announcement has been made by Maruti Suzuki yet.
