He wouldn't have remembered all this 30 years ago! A Tamil Nadu man is next to the CEO
I don't think I need to say that Mahindra & Mahindra is India's leading automobile company. Because, Mahindra is emerging as a giant company in the sale of automobile vehicles to that extent.
Initially, Mahindra, which manufactured agricultural equipment and tractors, as well as heavy vehicles, has since actively entered the production of cars and is currently one of the leading car companies in India. In particular, Mahindra's car sales have been increasing significantly in the last few years.

Mahindra & Mahindra, which has become a dominant company in the automobile industry, has now announced a change in its top leadership. Accordingly, R Velusamy from Tamil Nadu was previously the head of Mahindra Automobile Technology and Product Development.
In this situation, R Velusamy has now been promoted to head the overall automobile business of Mahindra & Mahindra. Accordingly, R Velusamy will now be the one who will be able to formulate business strategies for the sale of all cars and light commercial vehicles manufactured by Mahindra.

R Velusamy will not only look after the business of Mahindra's heavy vehicles. The current position was previously held by Veejay Nakra. Veejay Nakra has now been appointed as the head of Mahindra's agricultural equipment business. Hemant Sikka, who was previously in this role, has now been appointed as the Managing Director & CEO of Mahindra Export & Import.
All the above-mentioned Mahindra executives, including R Veluchamy, report directly to Rajesh Jejurikar, MD and CEO of Mahindra & Mahindra's Automobile and Agriculture Division. A mechanical engineering graduate, R Veluchamy joined Mahindra in 1996.
Mahindra quickly recognized R Veluchamy's potential and sent him to Austria to research diesel engine technology. There, R Veluchamy worked with AVL, the world's largest engine development company.
At that time, Mahindra's diesel engines were not at par with those of other companies like Tata Motors and Hyundai. Hence, Mahindra sought AVL's help at that time. Accordingly, R Velusamy was one of the Mahindra employees sent from Mahindra to Austria for the Mahindra-AVL alliance.
R Velusamy, who clearly understood AVL's engine design, production and testing, came to India with the same clarity and developed world-class diesel engines for Mahindra. After returning to India, R Velusamy headed the team that developed the mHawk diesel engines at Mahindra.
R Velusamy's contribution to the development of diesel engines installed in Mahindra's vehicles in the last 25 years has been very important. Thus, it is a matter of pride for us Tamils that someone who had the trust of Mahindra from the very beginning has now taken the next position to the CEO of Mahindra.
