Kia EV9: South Korean auto manufacturer Kia Corporation (Kia) was honored at the 2024 Car Design Awards ceremony, receiving the award under the ‘Brand Design Language’ category. As part of its brand relaunch, Kia revealed its new design language, ‘Opposites United’ for 2021. This design language has three dimensions; Uses tension, harmony and mobility to create new viewing angles and develop new ideas inspired by contradictory forces experienced in everyday life.

What is ‘Opposites United’ design?

Kia says it was recognized for inspiring the Consistency Design dimension by launching different product designs under the ‘Opposites United’ design language. “With its Opposite United philosophy, Kia Design has adopted a non-conformist approach aimed at inspiring change, unafraid to take risks. Unexpected at first glance, Kia's new models break with long-established cosmetic parameters to introduce a completely new and advanced formal language.

The jury board of the Car Design Award 2024 said, "A tireless innovation to establish a new identity." Among Kia's new vehicles recently recognized for its outstanding design, the EV9 won two of the world's top 3 automobile awards, including '2024 World Car of the Year' and '2024 North American Car, Utility and Truck of the Year'. The Year' is included. Kia also won the iF Design Award, with the EV9 winning Prestigious Gold.
