Both these SUV cars have achieved 5-star safety rating in Global NCAP. Also, both these SUV cars have created a new record in India. In fact, Tata Harrier Facelift and Tata Safari Facelift have achieved the highest crash test scores among cars manufactured in India.

Record performance of Tata Harrier Facelift and Tata Safari Facelift in Global NCAP

Among SUVs made in India, the Harrier and Safari scored 33.05 out of 34 for adult passengers, the highest figure achieved by any SUV so far. Tata Motors cars have broken all previous records. Till now, Mahindra Scorpio N (29.28 points) had the highest score among the Indian companies in the Global NCAP safety rating. Also, in terms of safety rating, Tata Harrier Facelift and Tata Safari Facelift have left behind Volkswagen Virtus and Skoda Slavia (29.71 points).

Tata Harrier and Safari facelift have also surprised everyone in terms of child passenger safety rating. In Global NCAP, it has secured 45 out of 49 marks in terms of child passenger safety. Tata Harrier Facelift and Tata Safari Facelift are made of high strength steel. In this regard, the company's Chief Production Officer Mohan Savarkar said, “We have provided high strength steel, hot-stamped parts and 6 airbags in both the SUV cars. Also, some parts have been changed for side and pole tests.”

Currently, five out of seven combustion engine cars from Tata have achieved 5-star safety rating in the Global NCAP i.e. Global New Car Assessment Program crash test. These include hatchback Tiago and sub-compact sedan Tigor. The report is claiming that no other automobile company doing business in India has so many 5-star safety rated car models in its portfolio.
