Yuva Patrkaar: Recently, in an event held in South Africa, the domestic automaker Mahindra has introduced the new Thar.E (Thar ev) and Scorpio-N Global Pick Up Concept. The Thar EV Concept is an early prototype. At the same time, questions were asked about whether it will come in production or it is just a prototype to showcase the capabilities of the company. However, now Mahindra Group Chairperson Anand Mahindra has confirmed that the production of the Mahindra Thar.E can be started.

Actually Anand Mahindra said in one of his tweets that, this is not just a concept. From the moment we all saw the prototype, we were determined to make it a reality. Along with this, he also shared a video of Mahindra Thar.e concept on Twitter. However, the company has not shared any other details regarding the launch date of the production model Thar Electric. But it is being speculated that it can be launched in 2025-26.

The Mahindra Thar EV concept also gives a preview glimpse of the company's upcoming 5-door Thar lifestyle SUV. Which will be launched globally in the next year i.e. 2024. This new concept SUV has been built on the special INGLO-P1 platform. Designed for maximum range with a lightweight and large capacity battery pack.

Talking about the features, the concept gets a square front with a retro-styled look, a square grille, a redesigned front bumper and a compact windshield. Also, features like two square LED daytime running lamps, a plain roof, big wheels and off-road tyres, LED tail-lights and tailgate have been included. And the spare wheel has also been integrated.

According to the information, the Mahindra Thar EV concept has been built on a longer wheelbase. Which ranges from 2776 mm to 2976 mm. At the same time, it has been strongly combined with the low overhang. Along with this, the segment's largest ground clearance of 300 mm is available in this SUV. Also, such a claim has been made about the 5-door Thar.E concept. It will be offered with strong off-road capability, segment leading approach angle, departure angle, ramp-over angle and water wading capability.
