Toyota Innova Ethanol : Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari has unveiled the prototype of the flex-fuel Toyota Innova High Cross Hybrid. Today the Toyota Innova High Cross has been launched. This car runs completely on ethanol. It is the prototype of the world's first electrified flex fuel vehicle. While developing it, the standards of BS6 Stage-2 were followed. Thanks to the hybrid system, the car can generate up to 40% of its electricity from flex fuel. The mileage range of this car is 15 to 20 km per liter of ethanol. The cost of which is around 60 rupees. Which makes it much more cost saving than petrol-diesel and CNG based cars.

At the launch of Toyota Innova High Cross, Nitin Gadkari said that vehicles using 100 per cent flex fuel still have problems. Presently no ethanol pump is running in the country. So I request petroleum minister to start ethanol pump to all petroleum companies like Indian Oil and Bharat Petroleum.
