Iran Hijab Law : Iran's parliament has passed a strict law regarding hijab. In this bill passed by the Parliament, heavy fine will be imposed on women who refuse to wear hijab in public places and those who support them. On Wednesday, lawmakers approved a three-year extension of the law on a trial basis, with 152 votes in favor, 34 against and seven abstentions. In this bill passed regarding Hijab, apart from imposing heavy fine on women, there is also a provision to punish those businessmen for not wearing Hijab. Who sell goods to women who are not wearing hijab. Or provide other types of services.
This bill will now be sent to the ‘Guardian Council’ for final approval. It is a unit of clerics. Which works as a constitutional monitor.

Iran has taken this step shortly after the completion of one year of the death of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini. Mahsa Amini was detained by the 'Morality Police' for not following Islamic dress traditions. Amini later died in police custody. There were protests in the country for several months against the incident and anti-government voices also became louder.
