Madagascar National Stadium Stampede: A tragic incident took place at the National Stadium of Antananarivo, the capital of Madagascar, when 12 people were killed and more than 80 were injured in the stampede. Earlier in 2019, a similar case had come to the fore, in which 15 people had died. All the injured have been admitted to the nearest hospital. Of these, the condition of 11 is said to be critical. Prime Minister Christian Ntse and President Andriy Rajoelina expressed their condolences over the incident.

Twelve people were killed and nearly 80 injured in a stampede of sports fans trying to enter Madagascar's national stadium for the opening ceremony of the Indian Ocean island games, the prime minister said on Friday, according to reports.
