This nuclear plant is built with the cooperation of China

The Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission (PAEC) began work on a pilot-scale plant for the concentration of uranium ores in 1970 at Dera Ghazi Khan. In 1989, a cooperation agreement was signed with China for its development.

This nuclear plant, developed under the China-Pakistan nuclear agreement and approved by the International Atomic Energy Agency, is currently producing electricity from four units CHASNUPP-I, CHASNUPP-II, CHASNUPP-III, and CHASNUPP-IV.
