Agriculture : Do Not Use Pesticides Indiscriminately in Wheat Crop, Dr. Pradyuman Bhatnagar, Scientific Advisor of Maharana Pratap Horticulture University, Gave Suggestions To Farmers

Agriculture : The wheat crop is nearing maturity. However, wheat harvesting will start in the month of April. In such a situation, it becomes necessary to handle the crop before it ripens. However, it is generally seen that farmers start using pesticides (Wheat Crop Pesticides) indiscriminately in the crop. Whereas there is no disease in the crop. In such a situation, Dr. Pradyuman Bhatnagar, scientific advisor of Maharana Pratap Horticulture University and former president of Agricultural Science Center, Kurukshetra, has given many suggestions.

It is important to check the moisture content of grains before harvesting

Dr. Bhatnagar says that the temperature has started increasing during the day time. In such a situation, crop care increases more. It is necessary to maintain moisture in the fields due to the temperature. But at the same time it is also important that there is no stagnation of water in the fields during the rainy season. He told that at present there is no disease in the wheat crop. Nor is there any need for spraying pesticides.

If the temperature increases, aphids can attack wheat

Dr. Bhatnagar told that as the temperature is increasing. The problem of aphids may be seen in the wheat crop. However, in the month of April, the disease disappears on its own due to the temperature. But if the problem of aphids is seen in the fields in the month of March, then spray 400 ml of Malathion per acre. For this, it is necessary that 200 liters of water per acre be used along with the pesticide and mix sticky substance with it so that the medicine works well. Fields where aphid problem is not visible. Do not use pesticides randomly in them.

Start harvesting only after it is completely ripe

Dr. Pradyuman Bhatnagar said that many farmers hurry in harvesting. Due to which there is a fear of crop damage as well as loss. In such a situation, farmers should get the wheat crop harvested only when the moisture content in it remains 10 percent. The native method of measuring moisture is that when a wheat grain makes a sound while breaking when pressed under the teeth, only then is the appropriate time for harvesting. It takes time to sell moisture-loving crops. While harvesting with a combine, especially take care of moisture. At the same time, be careful while using the thresher after harvesting by hand and keep in mind that no untoward incident happens.

Take care of storage

Take special care when storing wheat at home after harvesting. Do not mix new grains with old grains. Clean tanks while storing. Dry the tanks in bright sunlight before storing.

Keep an eye on yellow rust

Dr. Bhatnagar said that yellow rust is also commonly seen in this season. In such a situation, if there is yellow rust in the entire field. So spray propiconazole 200 ml per acre by mixing it in 200 liters of water. He said that if symptoms are seen in a few places and not in the entire field, then spray only at that place where the symptoms are visible. It was also suggested to the farmers that the land and wheat crops of this area are tolerant towards yellow rust. To some extent it ends on its own. Therefore, keep looking at the ears of wheat and leaves in the fields in the morning and evening.
