Latest Update: Govt Said on DA increase For Central Employees

DA Latest Update: Government employees can get double benefits in the new year. DA may increase by four to five percent in the new year. If this happens, DA will be reduced to 50%. The government can increase HRA or House Rent Allowance. If DA reaches 50%.

After the increase in HRA, government employees will get more payment. HRSA is given to government employees on the basis of their field of work.

The central government will increase DA in January.

At present, central employees get 46% DA. These will be applicable from July to December. The next increase in DA will be in January 2024. Its announcement should be made around Holi.

In January and July, DA and DR rates of employee-pensioners are revised based on half-yearly data of AICPI index.

There was an increase of 8% in the total DA for January and July in 2023. The next DA will be revised in July to December 2023 based on AICPI index data. It is still speculation. That this time it may increase to 50%. The government will also increase HRA when DA reaches 50%.

HRA is divided into three categories.

House rent allowance is divided into three categories. X, Y and Z are these categories.

(i) Include areas with population of more than 50 lakh people in “X” category. The Central Pay Commission (CPC) has recommended 24% HRA under the 7th Pay Commission.

(ii) “Y” is for area with 5 lakh to 50 lakh people. The employees living here get 16% HRA.

(iii) Employees working in areas with population less than 5 lakh fall in “Z” category. Here HRA is given at 8%. Now employees can increase HRA by 27% in X category, 18% in Y category and 9% in Z category.
