Petrol Pumps Will Remain Closed From March 10 To March 12 During Strike

Shri Ganganagar News : Petrol pumps will remain closed in entire Rajasthan including Sri Ganganagar district from 6 am on Sunday, March 10 to 6 am on Tuesday, March 12. Sriganganagar Petroleum Dealers Association District President Ashutosh Gupta said that the government has not been cutting VAT for a long time. Also, the commission of dealers has not been increased. In such a situation, petrol and diesel pump operators across the state including Sri Ganganagar have decided to go on strike from March 10 (after 6 am on Saturday). Shri Gupta said that due to increased VAT in Rajasthan, petrol pump operators are continuously incurring losses.

We have been demanding from the government to reduce VAT for a long time. But no hearing is taking place. Petrol is being sold much cheaper in neighboring states than in Rajasthan. He said that the government has not increased the commission of petrol and diesel pump operators for the last 7 years. Due to this, most of the petrol pumps in Rajasthan including Sriganganagar are on the verge of closure. Due to no action being taken on the legitimate demands of the Petroleum Association, it has been decided to go on strike.

More than 4000 petrol pumps will remain closed during the strike.

District President Ashutosh Gupta said that along with this, petrol pump operators from across the state will also surround the Secretariat in Jaipur on Monday, March 11, so that they can convey their legitimate demands to the government. There are about 5800 petrol pumps in the state. Of these, more than 4000 petrol pumps will remain closed during the strike. Compared to Punjab, the common man is forced to buy the most expensive petrol and diesel in Sriganganagar district of Rajasthan. Despite this, even after the BJP government in Rajasthan, there has been no reduction in the VAT rates on petrol and diesel. Whereas before the elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while cursing the then Congress government, had also given a guarantee of reducing the weight on petrol and diesel.

Due to this the general public is being financially and mentally exploited. Therefore, the government should take immediate action and provide relief to the common people and petrol pump operators by resolving all the demands including reduction in VAT on petrol and diesel, increase in the commission of petrol and diesel pump operators.
