Rain will increase the problem further

Along with cold, fog will also cause trouble on Saturday and Sunday. Yellow alert has been issued regarding fog. Due to drizzle and clouds on January 9 and 10, the maximum temperature is likely to come down once again.

increased demand for electricity

According to officials of power distribution companies, the demand for electricity in Delhi reached 5,559 MW on Friday. There has never been such a demand for electricity at one time in winter. Discom officials said that this is the figure of 11.05 am. The previous highest winter electricity demand in Delhi was recorded on January 6, 2023.

There was a demand of 5,526 MW that day. Whereas on January 5, 2024, a total demand of 5,559 MW electricity was made. According to information received from BSES, BRPL and BYPL recorded the highest demand of electricity in their areas at 2,379 MW and 1,136 MW respectively. Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (TPDDL), which supplies electricity to North Delhi, recorded the highest demand of 1,735 MW.
