According to officials of power distribution companies, the demand for electricity in Delhi reached 5,559 MW on Friday. There has never been such a demand for electricity at one time in winter. Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (TPDDL), which supplies electricity to North Delhi, recorded the highest demand of 1,735 MW.
