According to IMD, there is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rain at isolated places in Kerala, Mahe, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry today. While there is a possibility of heavy rain at isolated places over Rayalaseema, South Interior Karnataka. Rain accompanied with lightning and squall (wind speed 30-40 kmph) is likely over Kerala and Mahe and over Rayalaseema, Telangana, South Interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal, Lakshadweep.

IMD has issued Orange Alert in Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry in view of the possibility of heavy rains. While yellow watch has been issued in coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema and Karnataka.

According to IMD, light, moderate to heavy rains are likely to continue over Tamil Nadu-Puducherry-Karaikal and South Interior Karnataka of South India during the next 7 days. There is a possibility of heavy rain at isolated places in Kerala and Mahe during 3rd to 7th. Light, moderate to very heavy rainfall is likely over Andaman and Nicobar Islands during the next 7 days.
