IMD Weather Update :  The month of March is in full swing. And the weather has started showing its colors in North India. One feels coolness in the morning and evening. Whereas in the afternoon, one starts feeling heat due to sunlight. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted rain and snowfall in the hilly states.

Weather conditions in hilly areas

There is a possibility of moderate rain and snowfall in the western Himalayan region between March 13 and 14. Due to which challenges can arise for the residents and travelers here. During this period, there is a possibility of lightning and thundershowers in Jammu-Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

Delhi-NCR situation

Meanwhile, the weather in Delhi-NCR remains dry. But with the increase in temperature, the Meteorological Department has predicted rain. The sky is expected to remain clear on Tuesday and light rain is expected at some places on Wednesday.

Heavy rain alert in Punjab and Haryana

IMD has issued a warning of heavy rain in parts of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi. Especially on March 13, there is a possibility of light rain in Punjab, North Haryana, Chandigarh, Western Uttar Pradesh and Western Rajasthan.

Chances of rain in Northeast and Central India also

There is also a possibility of heavy rain in Northeast India, Ganga coastal West Bengal, Odisha and southern areas of Jharkhand. There may also be rain in Eastern Madhya Pradesh, Western Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh on 16 and 17 March.

Weather condition in the coming days

According to Skymet Weather, there may be heavy rain in parts of Haryana, Northeast Rajasthan, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Jharkhand in the coming 7 days. There is a possibility of change in weather in Mizoram and Tripura between March 13 and 15.
