Indian Railway: Passenger Train Are Gradually Disappearing From Tracks, Fares Are Being increased & Special Train Are Being Made
Indian Railway :- A few days back an important meeting was chaired by the Railway Minister. In this meeting, the figures of increase in the number of mail and express trains and decrease in the number of passenger trains in 4 years were discussed. Tell that in 4 years, the number of mail and express trains increased by 428 on an average per day, due to which passengers are getting better facilities than before. On the contrary, the number of passenger trains decreased by 580 on an average per day.
There has been a decrease in the number of passenger trains for the last few years.
For this reason, there was a manifold increase in the fare of passenger trains and its direct effect was visible on the pocket of the common man. Earlier where you had to travel in passenger trains for as low as Rs 10, now you have to pay up to Rs 30 to travel in this train. Stops of some passenger trains have been closed. And they too are now being given the status of Mail Express. On the other hand, the number of passenger trains has also been reduced significantly. While on the one hand, due to the increase in the number of trains, the passengers have got better facilities than before.

Passenger trains are being converted into special trains
There are many trains. So they are like this. Which has been converted from passenger to special train. There has been a lot of change in the condition of mail and express trains. If we talk about the current financial year, then in the year 2023-24, till August 15, 2023, the figure of mail and passenger trains has reached an average of 2032 per day. In pre-corona and post-corona conditions, there has been a significant reduction in the number of passenger trains running on an average per year/day. Whereas in the year 2019-20, the number of such trains was more than 3000, it fell to only 113 in 2020-21.
