Chandigarh: Under DFCCIL projects, construction work was done to build the corridor from Sahnewal to Pilkhani under Ambala division. For your information, let us tell you that this work started in the month of July in the year 2016 and this project was built in the year 2005 and was approved in the year 2006. During this period, preparation of three railway sections was included. Now soon you will start seeing goods trains running on the Pilkhani to Sahnewal railway track.

On Tuesday, the entire railway area was inspected by the dedicated freight corridor and security team and during this the goods train was seen running, which was completely successful. The goods train running from Pilkhani in 58 coaches ran at a speed of 42 km per hour. The journey of approximately 175 km was completed in just 4 hours. Earlier, it used to take more than 6 hours for a goods train to complete this journey on this area. DFCCIL has been running empty goods trains on this area for the last 10 days.
