Yuva Patrkaar : Ethanol production capacity in Uttar Pradesh, the country's largest sugarcane producing state, has crossed 2 billion liters annually. The interesting fact is that 5 years ago Uttar Pradesh was able to produce only 24 crore liters of ethanol annually. In the last 5 years, sugar mills operating in Uttar Pradesh have increased the production of ethanol by 8 times. Lakshmi Narayan Narayan Choudhary, Sugarcane Development and Sugar Minister of Uttar Pradesh Government, has given this information. Chaudhary said that Uttar Pradesh can become the title ethanol producing state of the country.

The Sugarcane Development Minister of Uttar Pradesh has said. That the ethanol production industry in the state has crossed Rs 12000 crore. In the last few years, the ethanol production capacity of Uttar Pradesh has reached 2.25 billion liters annually.

The state government has given a lot of help to the industry in investment of plant and machinery in this sector. Along with this, the state's sugar industry has also made considerable progress in terms of technology.

Due to the help of the government, the area under sugarcane has increased significantly in the last 6 years. Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh has hope. That with the help of sugarcane sector, Uttar Pradesh can become a 1 trillion dollar economy in the coming time.

The state government has considered the sugarcane sector as the biggest factor for improving the economy of the state. At present more than 45 lakh people are working in the sugar industry of Uttar Pradesh. Which includes sugar ethanol, jaggery, power generation, khandsari etc.

Uttar Pradesh government believes. That the sugar industry in the state is currently worth Rs 50,000 crore. The state government is making a lot of efforts from its side. And it is trying to make the value chain of ethanol attractive so that it can help in increasing the income of farmers.

Uttar Pradesh government officials have said. That the sugar mills of the state are being helped in revival with the help of progressive policy infrastructure. Efforts are being made to help the sugar mills and sugarcane farmers a lot by bringing UP Bio Energy Policy in September 2022.

This is the government's plan. That along with sugar mill, biogas plant, biodiesel production plant and biocoal production plant can also be run with the help of bio energy waste and the income of farmers can be increased.
