UP Government Transport Minister Daya shankar Singh said that in winter, passengers will get the facility to travel in air-conditioned buses of the Transport Corporation by paying 10 percent less fare. He said that with the onset of winter, there are less passengers in air-conditioned buses. Therefore their fare is being reduced. The Transport Minister said that the fare for 3×2 air-conditioned buses will now be Rs 1.47 per km per seat. The fare for 2×2 air-conditioned buses will also be Rs 1.74.

Also, the fare for Valbo (high end) will be Rs 2.58 per km per seat and the fare for air-conditioned sleeper buses will be Rs 2.33 per km. He said that this has been done to make air-conditioned services profitable. He said that fuel consumption is also less in winter. Also, due to higher fares the load factor also reduces. The Transport Department estimates that the fares for air-conditioned buses will be reduced. That due to reduced footfall in these buses, passengers will travel more by these buses. This will provide compensation to the transport department.
