YuvaPatrkaar : The Uttar Pradesh government has taken an important step to improve the convenience and travel experience of passengers. Bus terminals at six major bus terminals of the state – Charbagh (Lucknow), Sohrabgate (Meerut), Zero Road (Prayagraj), Amausi (Lucknow), Ayodhyadham and Rae Bareli will be built under the PPP model.

Decision in meeting

The plan was finalized in a meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Durga Shankar Mishra. In the meeting, financial tenders were approved so that the development of these bus terminals could begin. The project was taken forward in the presence of the Principal Secretary, Transport Planning and other senior officials.

Modern conveniences

These new bus terminals will be built on the lines of airports in which all airport-like facilities will be provided to the passengers. These bus stands will be known as busports and these facilities will ensure a better and pleasant travel experience for the passengers.

Inspiration from other states

To further improve the project, officials inspected bus stands built on PPP model in Andhra Pradesh, Punjab, Gujarat and Assam. The information and experiences gained from these bus stands will be incorporated in the bus stands to be built in Uttar Pradesh so that the best facilities can be provided to the passengers.

Facilities for passengers

Many facilities like cafeteria, rest room for drivers and conductors, underground parking, workshop, ATM and shops will be included in these bus terminals. All these facilities will not only provide convenience to the passengers but will also enrich their travel experience.
