If media reports are to be believed, in the meeting held on July 28, IBA, an organization related to the management of Indian banks, had demanded bank employee unions to observe bank holidays on all Saturdays. Approval from Ministry of Finance is necessary
After the approval of the five-day banking proposal by the IBA, if it is also approved by the Finance Ministry. Only then it will be applicable. After this, banks will work only from Monday to Friday in a week. Till now bank employees used to get second and fourth Saturdays off. But after approval, first and third Saturdays will also start getting holiday. However, in the meantime this is also being told. That the employees in the branch may have to work 45 minutes more daily. Means the working hours of the employees can be increased by 45 minutes.
