Hyundai Ioniq 5 : Hyundai launched the premium Ioniq 5 EV in the Indian electric car market this year, and soon after its launch, it won the title of ‘Green Car of the Year 2024’ at the end of 2023. This electric model from Hyundai won the Best Eco-Friendly Car award this year, defeating rivals like Volvo C40 Recharge, BMW i7, Citroen eC3, Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV, BYD Atto 3, Mahindra XUV400 and MG Comet EV.

A question arising in the minds of many people would be that on what criteria is the Green Car of the Year Award based? So first of all it is seen how useful or non-polluting the car is for the environment. There are some other parameters also. The first runner-up in this year's Green Car of the Year award is the BMW i7 and the second runner-up is the MG Comet EV.

Hyundai Ioniq 5 : 2024 Green Car of the Year

Hyundai's Ioniq 5 car was launched at the Auto Expo held in January 2023, which was priced at Rs 45.95 lakh (ex-showroom). Talking about specifications, Hyundai Ioniq 5 has a battery pack of 72.6 kWh. The company claims that the battery of this car provides a range of 631 km (tested) on full charge.

The rear wheel drive electric motor of Hyundai Ioniq 5 provides maximum power of 217 bhp and torque of 350 Nm. Talking about the features of Hyundai Ioniq 5, it includes two 12.3-inch touchscreen displays (one for the digital instrument cluster and the other for the infotainment system), panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charger, air ventilated front seats, dual-zone climate control.
