Approval for purchase of these goods
The Indian Navy has given permission for the purchase of 132 warships along with 143 aircraft and 130 helicopters. Apart from this, the Navy has also given permission for the production of 8 small next generation warships, 9 submarines, 5 survey ships and 2 multi-purpose ships. All these warships and ships will be manufactured in the country in the coming times.
Some warships have been decommissioned in the recent past. After this, the Navy was in need of new generation equipment. Actually the Navy is working on the 2030 plan. According to the plan, the Navy will have a total of 155 to 160 warships by the year 2030.
Preparation for next generation
According to media reports, the Indian Navy is looking to include at least 175 warships in its fleet by the year 2035. India's position in the Indian Ocean is to be strengthened through all these warships. This also includes establishing our presence in the strategic area. Along with this, the Army also wants to increase the number of new generation drones along with fighter aircraft, helicopters, aircraft carriers.
