Indian American Congressman Shri Thanedar Launches Mew Congressional Caucus To Protect interests of Hindus, Buddhists, Sikhs & Jains
Yuva Patrkaar : Indian American Congressman Shri Thanedar has launched a new initiative in America to protect the interests of Hindus, Buddhists, Sikhs and Jains. Mr. Thanedar has launched a new congressional caucus. The caucus was formally launched in the US Congress on Friday. Its purpose is to deal with religious discrimination.
Shri Thanedar launches Congress Caucus
In Washington DC on Friday, Indian American Congressman Mr Thanedar launched a new Congressional Caucus to defend the interests of Hindus, Buddhists, Sikhs and Jains. After this, more than 24 US lawmakers joined Congress's bipartisan Hindu, Buddhist, Sikh and Jain American Caucus.
Formal launch of caucus in US Congress
US Congressman Shri Thanedar said that the purpose of formally launching the caucus in the US Congress is to combat religious discrimination and promote religious freedom for people of Hindu, Buddhist, Sikh and Jain religions. He further explained that “We are not gathering just to start another caucus. We are gathering to take such a movement forward. Which strives for understanding, inclusion and positive policy action.

The MP said, “The purpose of this movement is to show this. That there is a place for every religion, every culture, and every community in America. My name is Mr Thanedar. I am a testament to America's diversity in Congress. Today is important in many ways. For many of you, starting the Hindu, Buddhist, Sikh and Jain US Congressional Caucuses may seem like a formal process. But I assure you it is much more than that.”
'Caucus will create a platform to speak the truth'
Mr. Thanedar further said, “This caucus is our place to discuss, take action, eliminate misinformation and disinformation in our culture and society, express religious freedom, protect our existence, and push back hate and bigotry.” Who are they? “Will create a platform to speak the truth about this.”
Let us tell you that the Congress Caucus is a group of American lawmakers. Which meets to carry out shared legislative purposes. Thanedar was accompanied by a group of eminent Indian-Americans from across the country who gathered on the steps of the US Capitol.
27 MPs are part of this new caucus
According to Thanedar, 27 MPs from both Republican and Democratic parties are part of this new caucus. He said that approximately 30 lakh Hindus, 12 lakh Buddhists, five lakh Sikhs and two lakh Jains enrich the culture and spiritual life of our country. Thanedar said that there are about 1,000 Hindu temples, 1,000 Buddhist temples, 800 Gurudwaras and 100 Jain temples in America. Which are working as centers of development, charity and spiritual welfare of the community.
