On Sunday, light rain and thundershowers were observed from Punjab, Bihar to the sub-Himalayan areas of West Bengal, Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh. Snowfall events were also recorded at higher altitudes in the western Himalayan regions, especially in Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh. There is a possibility of rain and storm conditions in the northeastern states for the next two days.

Warning issued by IMD

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a yellow alert warning of rain, snowfall and thunderstorm in many states. This includes Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Western Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan. Along with rain, incidents of strong winds and snowfall were also recorded in these areas.

Signs of changing weather in Himachal Pradesh

There is a possibility of change in weather patterns in Himachal Pradesh from Tuesday. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for thunderstorms and bad weather for March 28. The weather is expected to remain clear especially on the day of Holi. But there is a possibility of bad weather from 28th to 30th March.

During this period, there may be rain and snowfall especially in middle and high altitude areas. Light rain has made the weather pleasant in Shimla. And in the last 24 hours the temperature has increased by 1.5 degrees Celsius.

Effect of two western disturbances

According to IMD, two western disturbance areas are forming in western Himachali region. Which will be activated on March 26 and March 29 respectively. Due to their influence, there is a possibility of rain and strong winds from 26 to 29 March in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana and adjacent plains of North West India. This time period will be most sensitive to weather disturbances.
