Gurugram:- Gurugram of Haryana is called the city of Guru Dronacharya. There is only one temple in the whole of India in the name of Nishadraj Ekalavya. Which is located in Gurugram. This temple is in Khandsa village of Gurugram. It is told. That this place was earlier famous by the name of Khandavprastha. At this place, Guru Eklavya used to practice archery by making the statue of Drona.

Guru Drona asked for thumb in donation

One day when Guru Dronacharya saw Ekalavya's archery skills, he was astonished. Eklavya was the best in archery, but Guru Dronacharya had promised to make Pandu's son Arjun the best archer. Therefore, Guru Drona asked Ekalavya to donate the thumb of his right hand while asking for his Guru Dakshina. Later a temple was built at the same place in Khandsa village in the name of Ekalavya.

Eklavya Academy

Ekalavya Tirtha Samiti also organizes sports activities in this temple under the name Ekalavya Academy. According to local people, around 200 children come here to learn wrestling tricks. But till now no attention is being paid to this priceless heritage by the Haryana government or the district administration. Local people have taken the initiative to renovate this temple by forming a trust. But due to financial constraints the construction work is going on very slowly.

Government is ignoring construction work

Ekalavya Teerth Committee member Mukul Chauhan said in his statement that people of his committee have also met the Governor of Haryana. But there he did not get any help other than assurance. He said that till now the construction work of the temple has cost Rs 30 lakh. Local people are getting the construction work of the temple done with mutual help. But its pace is going very slow. A fair is held in this temple of Eklavya twice a year. At the time of the fair, a large number of people of Bhil tribe reach here to have darshan of their idol.
