IMD HEATWAVE ALERT: There is a possibility of a very sharp rise in temperature in India in the months of April and May. Due to which extreme heat and heatstroke can be experienced. According to GP Sharma of Skymet, the main reasons for this increase include global weather patterns and depletion of water levels.

Fear of heatwave

Heatwave may start especially in Central India. The effect of which is already visible in some southern states. Where the temperature has already crossed 41°C.

Heat wave period

Heat wave generally occurs in India from March to June. Which sometimes can continue till July also. Heatwave may be experienced over Northwest, Middle East and North Peninsular India, as well as parts of Maharashtra, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu and Kerala.
