Urban Local Bodies in Haryana Will Obtain Flying Squads

Chandigarh: Various schemes are being run by the Haryana government to keep the state clean. One of the important schemes among these schemes is “Swachh- Bharat Swachh- Haryana” scheme. The main objective of running this scheme is to make the “Clean India Campaign” run by the Prime Minister in Haryana successful. This scheme cannot be made successful only by the efforts of the government, for this the role of citizens is also very important.

A meeting of Municipality, Municipal Council and Municipal Corporation was organized under the chairmanship of CM Manohar Lal Khattar in which discussions were held regarding solid waste management. In this meeting, Haryana Transport Minister Moolchand Sharma, Minister of State for Labor Anup Dhanak and Urban Local Bodies Minister Dr. Kamal Gupta, Principal Secretary to CM V Umashankar, Additional Chief Secretary of Finance Department Anurag Rastogi and ministers of many departments were present.

Action should be taken against contractors
In this meeting, the CM issued orders to the officials and said that weighing machines should be installed at the exit and entry points of the vehicles carrying the waste picked up from door to door and the contractors should be paid according to the actual weight. Apart from this, strict action should be taken against contractors who make irregularities in the weight of solid waste. To take action against erring contractors, flying squads should be formed in urban local bodies on the lines of CM Flying.

CM himself is monitoring
Apart from this, the CM told the officials that whatever bio products are produced from solid waste. That should also be marketed. Not only this, garbage disposal projects in big cities like Gurugram, Faridabad, Ambala should be monitored with drone technology to know the amount of garbage reaching the dumping point. Keep getting information about it. To maintain transparency in this scheme, the CM himself is monitoring it. CM's efforts have not only been reflected in the procurement process. In fact, the government is also able to save up to 30% from the rate given in the tender.
