Statue Of Equality :  After India, the slogan of Jai Bhim has echoed in the world's most developed country America also. This is because the largest statue of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, the creator of the Indian Constitution, outside India was formally unveiled in Maryland city of America. The 19 feet high statue was unveiled a day earlier on Saturday (October 14). It has been named Statue of Equality i.e. “Statue of Equality”.

According to the report of news agency PTI, more than 500 Indian-American citizens from different parts of America and many people from India and other countries participated in the event. People present at the time of unveiling also raised slogans of Jai Bhim. The enthusiasm of the people who came to attend the unveiling ceremony of the Statue of Equality did not diminish even after heavy rain. Many people traveled a long distance of about 10 hours to participate in this historic event.

Indian-Americans from different parts of the country also gave various cultural presentations there. At the same time, while attending the program, Dilip Mhaske, who led the Ambedkarite movement in America, said that the Statue of Equality will represent 1.4 billion Indians and 4.5 million Indian Americans.

Famous sculptor Ram Sutar made the statue

The world's tallest statue is of India's first Home Minister Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, known as the Iron Man. It has been named the Statue of Unity. Which has been created by famous artist and sculptor Ram Sutar. The Statue of Unity is installed on an island in the Narmada downstream of the Sardar Sarovar Dam in Gujarat. He has created the tallest statue of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar in America.

Special significance of the date of unveiling

There is a special reason behind choosing the date of October 14 for unveiling the statue of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar in America. Dr. Ambedkar was made the Minister of Law and Justice in the first cabinet of Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru in independent India. Ambedkar later converted to Buddhism along with his supporters on October 14, 1956. The date of his conversion to Buddhism and the date of the unveiling of the statue in Maryland have been kept the same.

In America, the 'Statue of Equality' is about 22 miles south of the Rashtrapati Bhavan 'White House'. Apart from the statue, this center built on 13 acres also has a library, convention center and Buddha Garden. Let us tell you that Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar was born on 14 April 1891. He was the Chairman of the Drafting Committee of the Constituent Assembly of India.
