BYD Seal Electric Sedan :  Chinese car manufacturer BYD has launched its new electric sedan. The BYD Seal Electric Sedan is currently on offer in Thailand. But soon it is going to knock in India also. However, the launch date has not been revealed yet. The starting price of the car is 1.32 million baht (about Rs 30 lakh). The price of its top AWD variant is 1.599 million baht (about Rs 36 lakh). Its price in India is likely to be higher.

Design

It has many special features and many updates in performance. Its length is 4800mm, width is 1875mm, height is 1460mm and wheelbase length is 2920mm. Its look may remind you of the Porsche Taycan. It has been given a sloping coupe roofline. Talking about the interior, its dashboard is quite similar to Lexus LS sedan. A rotating instrument screen is also available.

Powertrain

The base Dynamic RWD variant gets a 61.4 kWh battery with a single 204 bhp electric motor. It gives 510 km range in a single charge. The AWD variant is the most powerful. Its dual motor generates 530 bhp power and 670 Nm torque. It is capable of accelerating from 0-100 km/h in 3.8 seconds. It is equipped with 82.5 kWh battery. It gives a range of 580 km.

Will be launched in India soon, will compete with BMW

Even though the Seal EV sedan has not been launched in the Indian market. But the company has made its page live on the Indian website. Which shows the launch of the car. This will be the third car to be sold in India. Before this there existed E6 and Atto 3. The new car can compete with the Kia EV6 GT AWD and the BMW i4.
